The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a Resource Center Specialist to manage and support the Resource Center operations within a prison complex.
- Provides and facilitates mandated legal and paralegal access services to the resident population in a timely manner
- Oversees the circulation of recreational reading materials
- Provides access to materials useful for reentry
- Trains and oversees a resident workforce in carrying out a variety of Resource Center functions
- Assists in ordering Resource Center materials
- Reviews Resource Center materials to ensure they meet Publication review standards
- Catalogs and processes Resource Center materials
- Promotes Resource Center to support ADCRRs goals
- Attends meetings and trainings
- Prepares reports and memos
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge of:
- Library laws rules regulations policies and procedures
- Professional and modern library tools principles and practices
- Modern library original and copy cataloging standards
- Computers and various software programs (Microsoft Office Google and library automation)
- Operation of standard office equipment including scanners copiers and printers
- Principles and practices of inmate management and supervision

- An associate degree or higher in Library Sciences or a related field

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.11).
In an effort to maintain a safe environment all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
