Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit including GO Expansion Light Rail Transit routes and major expansions to Torontos subway system to get people where they need to go better faster and easier. The Financial Systems team is looking for a Product Manager -EPM Specialist for a 18 months contract who will create the product vision and maintains the product roadmap for OneStream (EPM solution) and/or other incumbent will support the Senior Manager Financial Systems by ensuring project goals are in alignment with the program enterprise priorities and objectives and works closely with vendors / technology teams who perform testing activities and submit deliverables.
What will I be doing
- Responsible for thedesign build testing deployment management and support of EPM OneStream applications metadata and data business rules and calculations web forms data flows data integration from source systems financial reporting maintenance and design as well as enhancing functionality when needed to meet planning budgeting forecasting and reporting requirements
- Responsible for the technical analysis coding testing debugging and documentation with full technical knowledge of all phases of application systems analysis
- Support Senior Manager Financial Systems in the identification of operational gaps and provides solution to address gap analysis in the production process supporting DCFO strategic objectives.
- Provides input to the short executable plans derived from product/project roadmaps and oversees product/project development through the execution of the business requirements.
- Manages the project mandate and project priorities scope and implementation of standard processes protocols and associated reporting monitors and reports on planning and project progress timelines.
- Performs research documents business requirements reviews and assesses design/amendments to business processes related to IT solutions (e.g. ERP and EPM systems) and translates business requirements into solutions.
- Oversees business analysis activities and the execution of business requirements.
- Works across the organization to build relationships with business users vendors and product operations to ensure product success.
- Ability to translate business needs to technical specifications clearly communicate advanced technical topics with non-technical audiences and work effectively with support teams user communities and application development groups.
- Through the development of product/project roadmaps advises the business on how they can leverage technology and innovation to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their business.
- Anticipates and manages project issues; supports the development of business cases to secure support for initiatives and new programs/projects; ensures that any (current or anticipated) organizational changes do not compromise the project.
- Oversees and advocates for the resolution of EPM applications production issues; categorizes and identifies issues design amendments and incidents for investigation; provides business guidelines for root cause analysis.
- Leads assigned team members in a single work group/workgroup performing related tasks and provides leadership and oversight regarding the work assignment and deliverables and adherence to timelines and quality expectations.
- Provides guidance and direction to staff (e.g. Product Analysts Product Coordinators and Senior Business Analysts and EPM technical team.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Completion of a degree in Business Administration Engineering Information Systems Computer Science or related discipline - or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience /training in EPM financial systems for planning budgeting and forecasting financial close processes and reporting including application design development testing and deployment
- Demonstrated progressive experience contributing to the success of midsize to large initiatives with above average levels of complexity and business criticality.
- Agile certification (Agile Certified Professional Certified Scrum Product Owner) an asset
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 an asset.
- Knowledge and hands-on use of EPM applications Oracle Hyperion and/or OneStream.
- Knowledge and hands-on use of software and database systems used in financial reporting (e.g. SQL scripting Oracle database Microsoft Excel C# ) and EPM applications such as OneStream or Hyperion
- Understanding and comfort with integration of highly complex ERP systems i.e. Oracle EBS OneStream Oracle HCM Cloud Primavera Unifier Hyperion I Procurement etc.
