Summary: Performs general preventative and maintenance work for all company buildings. Takes direction from the Sr. Maintenance Worker and Director of Safety and Compliance.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Perform preventive maintenance (PM) dock levelers overhead doors dock locks and other warehouse equipment.
Prepares and paints walls and woodwork or performs other types of refinish; installs or repairs carpet; performs custodial duties as required.
Assists and performs with installation maintenance repair and construction work in the basic building maintenance trades such as carpentry painting electrical plumbing locksmith carpet and mechanics.
Perform routine repetitive daily inspection and maintenance necessary to building exterior/interior.
Perform general grounds keeping; inspect outside of all warehouse areas insure dumpster areas are kept clean to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the facility.
Identify and repair any safety issues in the warehouse in order to maintain a safe working environment.
Inspect repair and maintain all buildings owned by Logistics One.
Inspect fire extinguishers monthly.
Work in accordance with all safety regulations of the warehouse.
Perform snow removal as needed via (Manual shoveling - Snow Blowers - Plow Trucks)
Secondary Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist with general warehouse functions as needed.
Perform other job related duties as assigned
Other duties assigned by manager.
Education: High School diploma or equivalency; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: 3 years of mechanical and maintenance experience; Ability to obtain forklift certification
Skills Required:
Knowledge of general and preventative maintenance procedures aimed at handling both buildings and grounds maintenance
Sound mechanical and electrical aptitude aimed at handling repairing tasks
Strong background in handling maintenance equipment and tools in a manner conducive to safe practices
Adept at using power tools aimed handling both grounds and building maintenance procedures
Physical Demands:
Demonstrated ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 60 pounds
Exceptional hand-eye coordination targeted at handling diverse maintenance and cleanliness issues in a proactive manner
Able to work long hours when needed
Work Environment:
The job requires 10% sitting 45% walking 40% standing and 10% kneeling.
The job is performed under all temperature variations indoors/outdoors
Maintenance work can present hazards - Utilizations of PPE is critical to prevent accidents/injurys.
