(Internal Title:Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Specialist)
Under the responsibility of the Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Lead this role is responsible for collaborating with our Joint Venture partners to:
Support the effective development review and execution of community engagement plans and activities as required to support the delivery of an infrastructure project or capital project
Provide advisory services to our client and constructors on effective community engagement activities and issues management strategies for planned project works and potential issues associated with the work
Consult with contractors and internal subject matter experts to understand the project scope timelines and planned works to communicate insights and potential issues to the client to inform strategies and decision-making
Build and foster relationships with the client and contractors
Support the client with engaging with the contractors to identify opportunities to share timely and easy to understand information gather feedback and celebrate project milestones
Engage with the client to address community concerns provide updates and draft /review responses to inquiries about the ongoing and upcoming activities or issues related to the project
Partner with client and/or contractors to plan and deliver community events and meetings (virtual and in-person)
Contribute to the development and review of communications updates using various channels (i.e. PowerPoint presentations Question and Answer lists updates for social media and project website e-newsletter briefings to local officials)
Understand engineering and construction terminology and methods as well as ability to translate complex technical information into easy and understandable public information
Record analyse report on and track community interactions and status of inquiries to address them in a timely and effective manner
Effectively deal with issues of a sensitive nature when investigating responding or preparing correspondence to address complaints
Facilitate internal meetings as required including supporting on the development of agendas and minute taking
Identify and escalate issues that arise on the project to the senior leadership team so they can be addressed immediately
Work closely with client to ensure all community engagement deliverables are executed on time and as per contract requirements
Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions:
In-person work environment a minimum of four days/week
Requirements
Experience:
Minimum of 5years in Strategic Communications or similar
Minimum four years of progressive experience supporting and delivering community engagement activities on an infrastructure project or in a complex stakeholder environment
Experience in municipal provincial or federal government is an asset
Interest knowledge and aptitude in transportation construction and community relations is an asset
Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills excellent interpersonal skills
Understanding of how government works as well as political acuity will also be an asset
Experience in Adobe Illustrator is an asset
Education:
Bachelors degree in Communications Public Relations Journalism Political Science or a related discipline. A combination of equivalent education training and experience will also be accepted

Skilled in taking an organized approach to task and project management
Applies and adapts project management principles within the communication profile
Has exposure to infrastructure project communications and stakeholder engagement
Act as a project ambassador

Capable of and experience working independently and as part of a team
Confidence to engage with a variety of stakeholders and stakeholder groups
