We are seeking creative dynamic and committed teachers to join our teams at Vincent Massey Public School and Featherston Drive Public School. You will work itinerantly between these 2 schools starting at VMPS in the morning and ending your day at FDPS.
Vincent Massey PS is a large elementary school (K-8) that welcomes between 600-700 students in the English and Early French Immersion programs. VM also has a Deaf and Hard of Hearing class (1-8) and two Gifted Immersion classes (5/6 7/8). The caring and dedicated staff work collaboratively to provide a safe and engaging learning space for all students and colleagues. They strive to meet all of the diverse students needs. The staff provide a very collegial and supportive environment mentoring new staff generously with their many qualifications talents and areas of interest. VM is a great school that offers many opportunities for growth for new and experienced staff. As stated by many joining the VM team is a wonderful experience!
At Featherston Drive PS we are proud to work and learn in a school that is multiculturally diverse. Our students voices and their well-being are always our primary focus at FDPS. We are dedicated to ensuring that our school is a place where all students learn and thrive in a supportive and caring atmosphere. Staff members currently offer a variety of fun and innovative opportunities catering to all interests including intramurals Student Council Coding Club Rainbow Rangers Newspaper Club and gardening projects. Through our strong emphasis on academic achievement the arts athletics Sustainable Development Goals and character education initiatives our students staff and parents work collaboratively to build a strong learning community.
Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Boards (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school and the District by creating a positive and inclusive school climate learning and workplace environment. Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with a human rights and equity perspective to foster student success achievement and well-being.
Eligibility List
This posting is open to all Occasional Teachers who DO NOT already have a part time contract prior to September 1 2025. Any OTs who were awarded a contract for September 1 2025 are considered an OT until August 31 2025 and must apply to List 2B contracts as an OT applicant.

Please be advised that our order of consideration for permanent contracts is as follows: current internal permanent elementary contract teacher applicants current elementary occasional teacher applicants and then qualified external applicants.
**Please note that at OCDSB the term contract refers to positions that are permanent and not Long Term Occasional (LTO) or temporary assignments.
The French language freeze continues to be in effect. Therefore if you accept any teaching percentage of French contract you may only be considered for other French contract positions.

Additional Information about this Position: Position is itinerant between Vincent Massey PS and Featherston Drive PS. Candidate will start their day at Vincent Massey and end their day at Featherston Drive.
