Job Duties
The Deputy Clerk (Grade 8) is assigned operational responsibilities in a fast paced high-volume office with multi-tasking and frequent deadlines. Ensures courts instructions are executed and legal documents are prepared with accuracy and in accordance with the state and local policies and procedures. Must be committed to responding to customers with a friendly courteous and positive can-do attitude and a desire to work in a team environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Duties include handling a wide range of complex clerical and financial tasks to include: assessing fines & court costs accurately calculate and receipt fines costs and filing fees process court documents scanning all case documents large volume of accurate data entry and alpha/numeric filing assisting the public at the public counter answering the telephone and taking payments over the phone. Experience with Microsoft applications Windows 10-11 and Office 365 a plus. Must be able to multitask and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful applicants will have considerable court business or office related experience. Applicants should be highly organized and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Advanced knowledge of office automation systems and computer software required. Excellent customer service skills and retail cash handling experience preferred. This position could require long periods of standing at the public counter or filing for periods up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to bend and lift to retrieve files.
