Position: Team Chair
Location: Wachusett RegionalSchool District
Pay: In accordance with the CBA Wachusett Administrators Association
The Team Chairshall possess a Masters Degree in Special Education or in a related field. Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in Special Education with current DESE in planning and chairing Team Meetings and in coordinating services on behalf of special needs students.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Act as a liaison between Special Education staff and building principals regarding
issues related to the provision of services to special education students.
2. Schedule and oversee all aspects of the individualized Educational Program Process and chair
IEP meetings for assigned students.
3. Supervise consult with and advise School Evaluation Teams for the purpose of
assuring that assessments reports educational programs and service delivery
are of the highest quality.
4. Meet DESE requirements related to special education law including timelines
paperwork file maintenance and screening.
5. Coordinate and facilitate the evaluation of students referred for eligibility
determinations and for current special education students.
6. Make recommendations to the Administrator of Special Education concerning
modifications or development of Special Education programs and services for
special needs students.
7. Participate in providing in-service training to professionals and parents.
8. Attend and chair meetings outside of the District if necessary as an out-of-district liaison.
