Job Description

Position: Assistant BHS SPED Coordinator

Job Goal: To effectively implement Special Education processes at Barnstable High School in particular team meetings.

Qualifications: Special Education Administrator certification and/or Special Education Teacher Certification or such alternatives to the above qualifications as deemed hold a current NVCI Certification and SEI Endorsement.

Reports to: Building Principal BHS SPED Coordinator

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Chair Special Education team meetings as assigned.
  • Schedule train and evaluate all Paraprofessional staff.
  • Collaborate with building administrators on program design and special education caseloads.
  • Collaborate with building administrators in coordinating all SPED MCAS and other district assessments.
  • Assist building administrators including BHS SPED Coordinator in implementing current legal mandates in all areas of special education (discipline manifestation FBA BIPs).
  • Review IEPs prior to sending to Central Administration for distribution.
  • Must be knowledgeable about and able to commit district resources.
  • Any additional responsibilities as assigned by BHS SPED Coordinator and/or the Principal.

Terms of Employment: 193 days per BAO contract

Salary: TBD - Per BAO contract
