About the Role:
The Senior Accountant provides will be the first in-house accounting hire that reports to the head of finance and helps with the bookkeeping tax compliance and auditing process.
Job Description:
- Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheets profit and loss statements and other special reports.
- Prepares and maintains detailed documentation for external auditors and internal use as well as participates in audits with internal/external parties.
- Performs general ledger duties.
- Prepares asset liability and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Prepares regular and ad hoc reports performs analysis of data and provides summary information regarding relevant accounting data.
- Manage all accounting transactions prepare budget forecasts process periodic closings assisting preparing data for financial statements.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
- Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills are required to effectively engage in systemic problem solving and innovative thinking in a timely accurate detail oriented manner.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal tact for interacting with all levels of finance personnel.
Education
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field required Masters Degree in Accounting preferred
Experience
- 3 - 5 years experience in accounting with a medium to large company
- Public accounting experience preferred
