GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the overall functions within the shipping and receiving(S/R) department.
Pay: $20.00-$22.00/hr
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to the Facility Manager
- Monitors S/R department performance and meets daily velocity goals
- Acts as primary liaison with Customers Logistics department and assigned carriers
- Provides daily yard reports support lists and shift reports
- Checks Inbound Production and Outbound hourly
- Verifies outbound orders areFTL
- Assignsinbounds and outbounds for the next shift
- Prepares paperwork and logs forinbounds and outbounds for dock doors prior to shift start
- Ensures dock area is clean prior to end of shift
- Verifies date management is followed
- Verifies all labels are properly affixed with accurate information
- Facilitates and maintains active participation in the Daily Staff Meetings and provides daily assignments
- Communicates with Mule Driver move list to ensure velocity goal is met
- Collaborates with Supply Chain Manager on Unload Prioritization List
- Works closely with Production and the Supply Chain Manager to assure production needs are met
- Trains all shipping and receiving personnel on policies and procedures
- Provides back up for leads absence
- Performs performance reviews and goals setting of S/R employees
- Responsible for department discipline and adherence using theWMS (Warehouse Management System)
- Provides Counseling and Disciplinary Actions to S/R employees as needed
- Obeys all Safety Rules
- Conducts accident and incident investigations.
- Adheres to currentGMP rules and Food Defense Plan. Participate in Internal Audits and Inspection walks
- Completes assigned tasks listed in Corrective Action Plans
- Understands Lean Manufacturing tools including 5 whys BrainstormingFishbone Graphs and Root Cause Analysis.
- Manages inventory of Loose Pack Materials and Finished goods including all physical inventory counts and inventoryconsolidation
- Responsible for keeping all forklifts and material handling equipment in good working order.
- Responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials.
- Responsible for shipping of goods related to Food Bank Rejects and Returns.
- Implements all company rules and regulations as per current Employee Handbook
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise 1st shift fork truck drivers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
General:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Works well with little supervision
- Works well in a team environment
- Maintains a high level of business courtesy and etiquette when interacting with Customers Vendors and Sales representatives
- Demonstrated time management and multitasking skills
- Willingness to work additional hours as necessary
- Bilingual in Spanish not required but desired
- Authorized to work in theU.S.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Education/Experience:
- 2 years Customer Service experience
- 2 yearsWMS / ERP experience
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- High school diploma or GED
- Some college desirable
Computer Skills:
- Ability to use various PC software in Windows environment
- Knowledge of typing and 10-key calculator
- Basic knowledge of the internet
Math/Language/Reasoning Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to solve problems independently
- Ability to make decisions quickly and accurately
Certificates and Licenses:
- Train-the trainer Forklift Certification
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Internal climate-controlled traditional office environment; work requires periods of sitting frequent walking frequent computeruse frequent use of telephone including voicemail and frequent use of general office equipment. Occasional lifting required whenlocating stock in the warehouse
