Job Description
Senior worker who serves as a liaison between facility staff and partons while managing and supervising events. Acts as department safety expert for events.
About the Morrison Center
Located on the campus of Boise State University the 2002-seat Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts is Idahos home for the arts. Nestled on the banks of the Boise River with a panoramic view of the city parks and foothills the Centers 10-story stage house is a recognizable fixture of the Capitols picturesque skyline. The realization of a life-long dream of Harry W. Morrison and championed by his widow Velma the Center opened its doors on April 7 1984. Today the Center is recognized as a major destination for arts and culture annually hosting hundreds of live entertainment and arts education offerings that serve to enrich the lives of patrons of all ages. As a Boise State affiliate the Centers budget is supported by ticket sales facility rentals donations and the generous support of the Morrison Center Endowment Foundation Inc. The Center does not receive support from state appropriations. The latest economic impact study for the Morrison Center shows the generation of $27.9M in value to the local and state economy. Applies skills and job knowledge in area of specialization; may adapt procedures operations techniques tools materials and/or equipment to meet the needs of area of specialization; may work on non-routine tasks; resolves issues/makes working decisions within area of specialization or responsibility with minimal supervision.
60 % of Time Event Worker 4 will:
Supervise events and event workers security staff crowd control
Schedules and trains event workers
Debriefs and corrects service problems
Recommends patron satisfaction and safety issues
Coordinates management needs and requests
Conducts orientation with special instructions for shows
Responsible for Artist/VIP safety at dressing rooms
Provides first aid for medical emergencies or medical needs and completes EMT report for each incident
40% of the time:
Assist the Head House Manager with special events and other duties as assigned.
Attend staff meetings and on-going training requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant policies procedures pertaining to event management
Demonstrate leadership skills as a department head for a variety of technical production functions
Ability to supervise and train other workers
Strong problem solving and administration skills
Effective communication skills
Strong knowledge of Morrison Center facility. Has significant outside professional experience or education in event management. Willing to complete First Aid and CPR certification.
