Job Description
AdvisorThe Co-Advisers to the FIRST program will assist the coaches in one of the main areas listed in their job description. They are required to travel to all competitions throughout the build Co-Advisors will assist the Coaches in the following:Model and support Team 126-Gael Forces mission vision and valuesHave the ability to design prototypes build and test machines and maintain the software that controls them. They also conduct research to find the most cost-efficient and safest process to manufacture their robotic systemsCreate a positive achievement-oriented and structured learning environment that excites and invest in studentsMotivate students to reach high academic and behavior with mentors to build lead maintain and keep culture team morale and culture highMaintain knowledge of the rules for FIRST competitions and assist in the monitoring of websites and forums for updated news throughout the seasonDevelop a formalized understanding of STEM knowledge and skills for scholarsConduct practices and competitions with a high level of sportsmanship and ethicsProvide consistent communication about schedules travel logistics etc. and positively communicate and interact with parents students officials and othersMust be a self-starter with the ability to direct and build the robotics program into a competitive teamHave the ability to work with students in a way that boost confidence inspires their technical learning builds both problem-solving and collaborative skills and puts students into the position of better understanding
