Job Details

Role Name: Automations Senior Developer

Purpose: To drive the successful execution of Automation projects with a specific range of technologies within the Enterprise Automation team ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and delivering operational excellence.

What This Role Will Be Doing:

The Automation Senior Developer plays a critical role in managing and executing Automation projects emphasizing people management and fostering an innovative team environment. This position ensures alignment with strategic goals while overseeing diverse technical squads within the Automation team.

As a key driver of enterprise-wide transformational change the Senior Developer builds strong cross-functional relationships to integrate Automation initiatives seamlessly. The role involves guiding projects from conception to deployment ensuring timely delivery within scope and quality standards. By cultivating a culture of productivity and innovation the Senior Developer strengthens the organizations strategic capabilities.

This resource must demonstrate strong hands-on technical expertise and exceptional communication skills with a keen attention to detail. They must effectively blend technological foundations with a broad understanding of business objectives. Collaboration with Business Analysts Architects Operations and Platform teams as well as external stakeholders is essential for successful project integration. The role also involves vendor management to ensure effective partner contributions.

The Senior Developer must be a change advocate promoting innovative practices and new ways of working across teams and processes while keeping senior leadership appraised regularly on project status and risks.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Technical Expertise and Guidance:
    • Provide hands-on expertise in developing robust scalable Automation solutions.
    • Encourage knowledge sharing and peer reviews to maintain quality and foster continuous learning.
    • Implement cutting-edge Automation solutions to enhance capabilities and maintain competitive advantage.
    • Engage with stakeholders to understandand report the business value and ROI for each BOT build ensuring alignment with strategic goals
  • End-to-End Delivery and Risk Management:
    • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of Automation projects (including non Automation systems like SAP SalesForce Esker EDI BW) ensuring seamless integration and timely within-scope delivery.
    • Implement initiatives to refine processes enhance quality and increase efficiency with a focused effort on improving both BOT cycle time and build robust Automations.
    • Proactively identify and mitigate risks for minimal disruption. Ensure regular updates to senior leadership on project status risks and mitigation strategies
  • Proactive Communication and Collaboration:
    • Build strong cross-functional relationships with Business Analysts Architects and non-Automation teams (e.g. SAP SalesForce Esker).
    • Lead outcome-focused communication strategies and facilitate proactive collaboration for project planning and execution.
    • Ensure regular status reporting and updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Change Advocacy and Continuous Improvement:
    • Promote innovative practices to drive continuous improvement and process optimization.
    • Implement initiatives to refine processes enhance quality and increase efficiency.
  • Service Excellence and Customer Focus:
    • Instill a customer-centric mindset ensuring solutions deliver exceptional value and align with stakeholder needs.
    • Build and nurture strategic partnerships with key stakeholders advocating for Automation as a catalyst for business transformation

Mandatory Experience:

  • 8-10 years in Automation or relevant technology projects.
  • 6-8 years in IT project delivery or operations management or leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing technical teams and projects.

Reports To: Enterprise Automation Solutions Manager

Experience & Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
    • 7 years of relevant experience preferably in software design and development.
    • Provide expertise in scalable Automation solutions.
    • Promote knowledge sharing and peer reviews.
    • Implement innovative solutions for competitive advantage.
    • Report business value and ROI of BOT builds.
    • Manage the lifecycle of Automation projects.
    • Improve processes and BOT cycle time.
    • Identify and mitigate risks with regular updates.
    • Foster relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Lead effective communication strategies.
    • Provide regular project status updates.
    • Advocate for innovative practices and process optimization.
    • Ensure a customer-centric approach for value delivery.
    • Build partnerships to promote Automations role in transformation.
