Position Overview
The Functional HR Lead is a strategic and operational role responsible for driving all aspects of Human Resources management. You will lead HR functions including talent acquisition onboarding performance management employee engagement compensation & benefits administration HR compliance and learning & development. This role is vital to building a high-performance values-aligned culture that supports the growth of Herbal Goodness.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals and Herbal Goodness mission.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on organizational design workforce planning culture building and employee relations.
- Lead the evolution of HR policies procedures and systems for a growing team.
Performance Management & Development
- Drive a robust quarterly performance review process tied to KPIs OKRs and bonus structures.
- Implement employee development plans growth conversations and manager feedback cycles.
- Ensure tracking of employee achievements learning paths and role clarity.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment for both corporate and retail roles.
- Create and manage a seamless onboarding experience that communicates values expectations and role success metrics.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Manage HRIS systems payroll coordination employee documentation and compliance with state and federal labor laws.
- Oversee employee records background checks contractor agreements and benefits administration.
Culture & Engagement
- Support initiatives that enhance employee well-being inclusion and professional growth.
- Organize regular engagement check-ins surveys feedback loops and team-building activities.
- Partner with leadership to foster a culture of accountability trust and continuous improvement.
- Plan out and staff future organizational structure as the company grows
Staff & Retail HR Support
- Develop best practices for managing employees international team 1099 contractors performance tracking and contracts.
- Support the needs of our retail store staff including scheduling training and policy enforcement.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field (Masters preferred).
- 7 years of progressive HR leadership experience preferably in a fast-paced entrepreneurial or wellness-oriented company.
- Proven knowledge of HR best practices employment law and performance management systems.
- Strong emotional intelligence leadership presence and cultural alignment with Herbal Goodness mission.
- Experience with HRIS tools and performance tracking platforms (e.g. BambooHR Asana).
- Ability to work independently build systems and thrive in a dynamic growth-focused environment.
