Human Resource Specialist II or III
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform weekly payroll administration and support the biweekly payroll. Responsible for system entry processing and garnishment processing.
- Recruit for hourly and salary positions including sourcing of candidates interviewing and pre-employment processing such as background checks employment verifications etc. Participate in career fairs. Maintain requisition logs.
- Conduct New Hire Orientation to advise new associates on company practices and policies as well as benefits. Ensure timely and accurate processing of new hire paperwork and personnel files
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants associates and supervisors referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings terminations and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal state and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices. Responsible for maintaining accurate HR records including personnel files benefit files training records payroll records attendance files and spreadsheet data.
- Maintain/Update associate communication boards responsible for disseminating of information to associates regarding site events benefits open enrollment communication updates etc. Ensures timely celebration of Service Awards
- Participates in the organization and implementation of company activities and committees (CIA Wellness Safety and plant celebrations.).
- Promotes positive work environment by being accessible point of contact for associate questions as well as assisting in the planning and developing associate activities development of associate welfare programs i.e. social events recognition.
- Completes headcount and monthly HR metric reports as needed
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources
- 5 - 7 Years of professional experience
- Ability to manage projects collect data and track progress
- Bilingual English/Spanish with excellent analytical verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to act with integrity professionalism and confidentiality
- Microsoft Office programs proficiency -strong Excell skills
