Job Description
* Design analyze and detail cold-formed steel structures in accordance with California Building Code (CBC) AISI and ASCE standards.
* Prepare structural calculations drawings and specifications for submittals and permitting.
* Stamp and sign structural documents as Engineer of Record for projects within California.
* Perform structural modeling using tools such as RISA CFS SAP2000 Revit Telka Structures and/or AutoCAD.
* Coordinate with architects MEP engineers and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
* Stay current on industry codes materials and best practices specific to light gauge steel systems.
* Review shop drawings respond to RFIs and provide construction administration support.
* Mentor junior engineers and drafters providing quality control and technical guidance.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* Active California PE License (required).
* 5 years of structural engineering experience with a focus on light gauge steel systems.
* Proficiency in relevant structural analysis software (e.g. RISA CFS ETABS STAAD AutoCAD).
* Strong knowledge of cold-formed steel design lateral systems and seismic considerations.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with design-build delivery or coordination with panelized/prefabricated systems.
* Familiarity with DSA or OSHPD project requirements (if applicable).
* PE License in other states
* SE License (Structural Engineer - CA) is a plus but not required.
