Job Description
The position of HISET INSTRUCTOR was established to conduct appropriate level of instruction for adult students in the areas of reading writing social studies and science OR mathematics.1. Utilize the competency based education when planning and teaching lessons to help students gain the knowledge and skills needed to earn their high school diploma on a 7 week to obtain .50 credit and 15 week to obtain 1 credit.2. Will be required to use power school for all grading using a CBE grading system.3. Will use the project based learning philosophy and instructors will adapt methods based on students strengths and weaknesses4. Are expected to emphasize skills that will help students find jobs5. Are expected to monitor students progress6. Help students develop study skills7. Connect students to other resources in their communityAll courses are aligned with the College and Career Readiness Standards. These are imbedded into all courses so that students can earn a high school diploma and be prepared to enter a career. Some courses are designed to be training courses that will lead to a certification upon completion. In addition to teaching these subjects teachers also help their students improve their skills in communicating critical thinking and problem solvingskills they will need in preparing for further education and successful careers.
