Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The pharmacy technician is a licensed personnel who possesses advanced pharmacy knowledge in the hospital settings. Under direct supervision of a registered pharmacist the pharmacy technician performs activities which primarily consist of drug distribution duties pre-packaging unit-dosing maintaining the inventory refilling floor medications in the automated dispensing machine (ADM) checking for outdates and recalls intravenous and hazardous sterile compounding and record keeping (refrigerator temperature logs and hood cleaning). The pharmacy technician participates in pharmacy projects process improvement and initiatives.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum Required Experience: None
- Preferred Experience: 1 year experience in hospital pharmacy
- Education:
- Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred Education: N/A
- Licenses:
- Minimum Required Licenses: Kansas State Board of Pharmacy License (within 60 days of employment)
- Preferred Licenses: N/A
- Certifications:
- Minimum Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) (or within 2 years of employment)
