About the job:
Based in Mons Belgium you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATOs Digital Endeavour. You will join NATO Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) which is responsible for planning and executing all lifecycle management activities for cyber security. In executing this responsibility NCSC provides specialist cyber security-related services covering the spectrum of scientific technical acquisition operations maintenance and sustainment support throughout the lifecycle of NATO Communications and Information Systems (CIS).
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Section Head NATO Cyber Security Operations Centre who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:
- Leading a diverse team delivering NCSC 24/7 cybersecurity monitoring service and supporting other critical cybersecurity services;
- Overseeing cybersecurity monitoring and detection operations managing the financial and operational aspects of the CSOC functions;
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the CSOC ensuring 24/7/365 monitoring and detection of cyber threat activity and security incidents within on premises and cloud computing environments;
- Act as Service Delivery Manager for NCSC Monitoring and Detection service ensuring the cost effective delivery of the service in accordance to the contracted SLAs and OLAs;
- Develop and maintain the CSOC business execution plan ensuring optimal allocation of resources for operations continuous service improvement and key initiatives;
- Lead technical investigation of NATO Enterprise cyber security incidents in line with the NATO Enterprise Cyber Incident Response Plan (CIRP).

About you:
The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:
- Masters degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 5 years post-related experience. Or a Bachelors degree with 8 years post related experience;
- Extensive knowledge of how cyber-attacks unfold from initial compromise to full execution and how they can be prevented detected and responded to;
- Experience in security monitoring threat intelligence consumption incident response coordination in large organization;
- Relevant experience in delivering and planning for operational cyber security services;
- Experience producing clear and concise presentations and reports to both technical and non-technical audiences as well as giving effective presentation;
- Proven organizational managerial and coordination skills;
- Experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders responses to cyber incidents;
- Excellent analytical problem solving and verbal and written communication skills;
- Business management experience in delivering IT services with a focus on continuous service improvement;
- Good understanding of the management of IT Service Delivery following ITIL framework;
- Experience working on complex projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders in separate locations;
- Fluency in English both written and spoken.
Note that most of the work is conducted on site in Mons Belgium and that currently the internal job title is Principal Cyber Security Defender.
