Position Title: Medical Assistant
Department: Internal Medicine Womens Only Primary Care Practice
Shift: Monday to Friday 08:00 16:30 5 Days/Week
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
Experience Required: Minimum 3 Years
Special Note: This is an exciting opportunity to join our brand-new primary care location dedicated exclusively to womens health.
Athena Medtech is seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Assistant to support our new Womens Only Primary Care practice. This role is essential in delivering high-quality patient-centered care and supporting a positive experience for women seeking comprehensive internal medicine services. The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise organizational skill and a collaborative spirit to a growing practice designed to serve the unique needs of women.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist physicians with clinical procedures and patient examinations.
Prepare patients for examination including assisting with gowning and positioning especially elderly patients.
Perform and document vital signs vision screening and point-of-care testing (e.g. CLIA-waived tests glucometer spirometry).
Administer vaccinations and perform phlebotomy and electrocardiograms as directed by the provider.
Maintain clean and fully stocked treatment rooms; monitor and order clinical supplies.
Register patients verify insurance and referral information and ensure accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
Coordinate appointment scheduling and serve as a liaison between the practice and external service providers.
Answer telephone calls route messages appropriately and provide exceptional customer service to all patients.
Prepare and maintain patient records per office protocol including updating lab results allergies and correspondence.
Support daily clinic operations and maintain a professional and respectful environment for patients and staff alike.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical medical assistant role preferably in internal medicine or womens health.
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic medical office procedures.
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.
Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
