o Stroke Center
o Magnet Designated
o Radius rule: Travelers permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
Unit Information:
o Beds: 36
o Minimum Years of Experience required 2 years Med/Tele RN exp (Resource Team)
o Will you accept a first-time traveler Not preferred but will consider (Resource Team)
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Bladder CA prostatectomy kidney stones renal CA patient requiring fluid resuscitation/blood products TURBT
o ESLD peritoneal dialysis GI Disorders and infections Liver Failure AKI/CKD pre & post operative kidney/liver/pancreas transplant acute rejection
o Surgical Trauma-Chest tubes SCI GSW MVA traumatic falls w/injury
Patient Ratios:
o RN: 1:4-6
Required License National Certification Certs (BLS ACLS etc.) or other position specific requirements such as Drivers License and/or Insurance:
o BLS ACLS NIHSS (Resource Team requirement)
Skills required:
o General Med/Tele skillset: Stroke experience cardiac rhythm interpretation trach care PIV starts chest tube management NGT placement drain/tube management (Dobhoff PEG tubes Hemovac JP drains flexiseals foley insertion/management etc) PCA pumps
o Medication gtt management to include: Cardiac drips Heparin blood products IVF
Support within the Department:
o CNA ratios vary
o Receptionist/HUC
o Charge nurse 24/7 may or may not have patients
o Phlebotomy peripheral blood draws only
o IV/VAT Team
o Resource Nurse as available
o RT 24/7
o Hospitalist 24/7
o Intensivist 24/7
o Telemetry monitoring/tech No monitoring tech; nurses read monitors and respond
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o IV Pump: Alaris
o Med dispensing: Omnicell
o Monitors: Phillips
Floating:
o Within region and scope of practice
o Will be required to float per region needs will require floating to all facilities listed below as needed within scope of practice DECLINE if not agreeable

Region 2 - Pineville Anson Union Union West Central Division (CMC Main CMC Mercy Levine Childrens Hospital)
Region 3 - Cleveland Kings Mtn Lincoln Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH)
If floating mid-shift Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
Orientation (facility and unit):
o NEO
o 2 days departmental
Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: every other
o No call for travelers
o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off excluding holidays must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
