Job Description
Job Title: Senior GenAI/LLM Engineer
Location: Bay Area CA / Remote option for CA locals.
Type: Contract- Long Term
Experience Level: 8 Years
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Generative AI (GenAI) Large Language Models (LLMs) and Python development. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AI/ML systems and will be instrumental in designing building and deploying advanced AI-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design develop and optimize applications using Generative AI and LLM frameworks
Build fine-tune and deploy large language models for real-world use cases
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Implement best practices in prompt engineering model evaluation and performance tuning
Work with large datasets to train validate and improve AI models
Develop Python-based APIs and backend services to support AI model integration
Research and stay up to date with the latest advancements in GenAI LLMs and related technologies
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 8 years of professional experience in software engineering or AI/ML development
Strong hands-on experience with Generative AI LLMs (e.g. GPT LLaMA Claude Mistral) and NLP techniques
Proficient in Python programming including AI/ML libraries such as PyTorch TensorFlow Hugging Face Transformers
Experience with fine-tuning and deploying large language models in production environments
Solid understanding of machine learning pipelines model evaluation metrics and data preprocessing techniques
Experience building and integrating APIs and microservices
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with vector databases (e.g. FAISS Pinecone) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP) and MLOps tools
Contributions to open-source GenAI or LLM projects
Advanced degree (Masters/Ph.D. in Computer Science AI/ML Data Science or a related field
