Position Overview
The Account Executive (AE) is a quota-carrying sales professional responsible for driving net-new Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) through proactive lead generation and strategic prospecting. This role is essential to fueling Meriplexs organic growth by identifying engaging and closing new logo opportunities. The AE must be a self-starter with a proven ability to create demand at the top of the funnel and advance deals to close.
Key Responsibilities
Top-of-Funnel & Lead Generation
- Develop and execute a lead generation plan focused on your assigned territory or vertical using:
- Cold outreach (calls emails LinkedIn)
- Networking through industry associations and peer groups
- Attendance and participation in local and regional events
- Strategic list building and territory mapping using defined ICP criteria
- Vertical-specific campaigns in collaboration with marketing and partner teams
- Build a self-sourced pipeline that maintains at least 3x coverage of your monthly quota.
- Work with the marketing team to localize or personalize campaigns emails and webinar follow-ups.
- Establish new relationships by securing discovery calls and meetings with key decision-makers (IT Finance and Operations leaders).
Pipeline Development & Sales Execution
- Qualify and advance leads through a consultative sales approach focused on solving business challenges through Meriplexs managed IT and cybersecurity services.
- Create compelling business cases and ROI analyses to support Meriplex solutions.
- Maintain accurate real-time opportunity and activity tracking in Salesforce including all lead generation touchpoints and progress updates.
- Deliver timely forecasts and reports on pipeline health prospect engagement and stage conversions.
Internal & External Collaboration
- Collaborate with OEM partners and vendors to co-sell and identify shared opportunities.
- Align with Sales Engineers Account Managers and other internal stakeholders to ensure effective handoffs and smooth onboarding.
- Contribute to refining the go-to-market motion by sharing feedback from prospect interactions and market trends.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10 years of B2B sales experience preferably in managed IT services cybersecurity or technology infrastructure.
- Demonstrated success in generating new business through outbound methods and building net-new relationships.
- Proven ability to work verticals and/or defined territories with precision and persistence.
- Comfortable navigating complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Salesforce and modern sales enablement tools (e.g. ZoomInfo Salesloft Outreach).
- Strong understanding of solution selling ROI modeling and competitive positioning.
