Institute of Population Health

The University of New Brunswick views population health in all its forms as well as the need for innovative models for the provision and delivery of healthcare as critical needs across the province. To address these issues the university is establishing the UNB Institute for Population Health (IPH) with Dr. Jennifer Russell as Executive Director. Among the many things the IPH would do would be to inform best practices with respect to healthcare responses in the province and the larger region through awareness raising activities advocacy education and training and various aspects of research activity.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri 7:45 am - 4:00 pm 36.25 hours per week (Summer Hours)

Salary Range: $49410 - $61768 per annum * As of July 1st

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Executive Director the Communications and Knowledge Transfer Officer will lead the development and implementation of a communications and knowledge transfer strategies for the Institute of Population Health.

  • Create and implement a comprehensive communications plan that aligns with the institutes goals and priorities targeting key audiences with tailored messaging.
  • Manage media relations digital platforms and social media to raise awareness and enhance the impact of research.
  • Develop and implement strategies to synthesize and disseminate research findings using accessible formats such as policy briefs infographics reports and multimedia content.
  • Support population health researchers in their efforts to ensure findings are translated into practical applications that can influence policy and practice.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners and interested parties such as researchers government bodies health professionals community organizations media outlets etc.
  • Organize workshops webinars and events to foster dialogue and ensure research findings are actionable.
  • Produce high-quality audience-appropriate content for websites newsletters press releases and presentations to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Collaborate with researchers and key partners to craft clear engaging summaries of scientific studies.
  • Track the impact of KT efforts by evaluating the uptake and use of research in policy and practice.
  • Adjust strategies based on feedback and data to maximize the effectiveness of communication efforts.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A bachelors degree in Communications Journalism or Marketing. Experience in a health-related field would be a strong asset.
  • 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in communications and knowledge transfer.

Additional Strengths:

  • Demonstrated strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Capacity to coordinate various project partners and resources.
  • Experience and proficiency with developing and managing web content.
