In late 2024 iSelect and Compare the Market formed a new Aggregation business within the A&G group and now support millions of Australians to compare and buy their personal finance and household products such as insurance energy and loans.
How you fit:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-orientedData Modellerto design implement and maintain conceptual logical and physical data models that support business intelligence analytics and operational systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with data architects data engineers business analysts data analysts and business stakeholders to ensure data structures align with business goals and technical requirements.

What you do:
Data Modeling:
- Design and develop conceptual logical and physical data models.
- Translate business requirements into data structures that support reporting and analytics.
- Maintain and optimize existing data models for performance and scalability.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work with data architects data engineers business analysts data analysts to understand data needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data models meet business requirements.
- Document data models and metadata for transparency and governance.
Data Governance & Quality:
- Ensure data integrity consistency and accuracy across systems.
- Support data governance initiatives by assisting in defining data standards and best practices.
- Participate in data quality assessments and remediation efforts.
Tooling & Technology:
- Use data modelling tools (e.g. ER/Studio Erwin Power Designer) to create and manage models.
- Support database design and integration efforts across platforms (SQL NoSQL cloud-based)
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with business units product managers and analysts to understand requirements and translate them into data solutions.
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Additional Responsibilities
- Stay up to date with industry trends emerging tools technologies in data science machine learning and analytics.
- Willing to try new ideas and emerging data science and AI technologies to accelerate the practice of data modelling
What you need:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Statistics Mathematics Engineering or a related field
- 25 years of experience in data modelling across a medium to large enterprise
- Proficiency in data Modeling techniques (normalization dimensional modeling etc.).
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience with data Modeling tools (e.g. ERwin ER/Studio dbt PowerDesigner).
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure
- Ability to clearly document data models and explain them to technical and non-technical audiences.
