Job Description
With minimal direction and guidance is responsible for ensuring that all quality attributes for assignedprogramsarecarefullymonitoredandsatisfactorilycontrolledtocomplywithCompany and customer contractual requirements specifications and drawings.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities
- Provideadequateoversightandcontrolthatassuresallrawmaterialscomponentdetails and finished products supporting a given program are procured and/or manufactured in accordance with contractual quality requirements.
- Managesupplierinteractionsworkwithnewproductdevelopmentprogramsandensure appropriate supplier compliance to quality requirements.
- Developandcommunicateexpectationsforqualityperformancecontinuous improvement quality systems process controls and capabilities to suppliers.
- Mentorandtrainsupplierrepresentativesinbestpracticesinqualitysystemsprocess controls methods problem solving and statistical tools.
- Developsupplierauditscheduleconductsupplierauditsandfollow-uponsupplier corrective actions.
- Maintainsupplierprogramincludingsupplierratingsmetricsanddevelopment.
- Measureandcommunicatesupplierperformanceonkeymetricsandthecorresponding continuous improvement plans and reports results to management on a monthly basis.
- Establish qualitycontrol criteria methods and procedures including visual and physical inspection points and testing surveillance over tools fixtures bulletins and related work instructions required to support assigned programs.
- Monitor in-process control points of assigned programs so that adequacyand timeliness ofqualityassurancefeedbacktomanagementandinterestedcompanypersonnelisbeing effectively managed.
- Conductassessmentsofcustomerreturnedmaterialsassigningresponsibilityand approving work instructions as required.
- Reviewandcoordinate allactions necessaryto supportall qualityrelatedrequirements
- thecompanyiscontractuallyobligatedtoprovidepercustomerpurchaseordertermsandconditions.
- Foster and maintain an effective liaison role with the customer and associated governmentalagenciesincludingbutlimitedtoproductqualityassurancerepresentatives and technical support staff.
- Conductprovideleadershiporparticipatewhencalleduponinallactivitiesrelatedto customer quality surveys or audits.
- Conductinternalauditsto ensureconformancetoqualitymanualsandprocedures.
- Interact with manufacturing and manufacturing support groups in the detection and required to avoid repeat non-conformances.
- Serveasmemberofthe MaterialReviewBoard.
- Provideinputandapprovemanufacturingroutingsinsuringmandatoryinspectionpoints are adequately defined and appropriately placed.
- Coordinateinternalcorrectiveactionrequestsandhelpaudittheeffectivenessofinternal corrective actions.
- Willingnessandflexibilityforbusinesstravelbothdomesticallyandabroadwhenrequired.

EducationandExperience
- RequiresB.A./ quality assurance.
- CertifiedQualityEngineer(CQE)orabilitytoobtaincertificationwithinoneyearofemployment.
- Requires10yearsmanufacturingqualityengineering/supplierqualityengineer experience at least 5 years in the aerospace industry. Experience with Lean methodologies required.
