What Were Looking For
L&M is seeking a highly detail-oriented and creative Packaging Designer to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in supporting both our internal Sales team and our valued external customers with a focus on corrugated packaging design that balances form function and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom corrugated packaging solutions from concept to production.
- Review and spec. out current customer packaging items; verify new specs for accuracy and performance.
- Conduct stacking strength and compression analyses to ensure structural integrity and shipping efficiency.
- Create Cape/Topps layouts and optimize pallet utilization for cost-effective transportation.
- Operate CAD design tools and generate cutting files for prototypes and production.
- Produce physical samples for customer presentation and testing.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Sales Production and Customer Service to deliver tailored packaging solutions.
- Stay informed on industry trends materials and technologies to support continuous innovation.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in corrugated packaging design or a degree in Packaging Engineering Industrial Design or a related field.
- Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of packaging design principles material performance and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with ArtiosCAD Impact or similar CAD software; experience with operating a CAD cutting table is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with both internal teams and external customers.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
