Job Description
SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining Smithers Pearsall Test Center grounds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Keeps all grounds and surfaces in good condition including mowing grass spraying weeds maintaining fire breaks and sweeping test surfaces.
Maintains equipment which may include small repairs or fabrication; lubrication or filter changes; minor electrical or mechanical work.
Maintains reverse osmosis system including changing filters and monitoring for problems that need attention.
Maintains shop supplies by placing orders. Research purchases and inventories equipment parts chemicals and supplies.
Follows cost controls for supplies and labor.
Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
Follows and develops safe working practices for all employees.
Keeps updated with Workers Compensation and OSHA requirements.
Follows preventative maintenance procedures for all support equipment.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Cleans and helps maintain organized shop area.
Uses computer software and hardware to log work orders.
Represents the organization in a professional manner.
Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards and budget and cost controls.
Keeps projects on schedule and on/under budget asks for help when needed.
Suggests improvements for efficiency cost savings or increased customer satisfaction.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Five (5) or more years related experience and/or training in landscaping and maintenance required.
Automotive truck and farm equipment experience preferred.
