Job Description
About This Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dependable caregiver to support a 74-year-old male client in Rutland Vermont 05701. The client sustained a broken neck in a motorcycle accident in 2023 and has remained in a hospital setting since. He underwent rehabilitation at Spaulding in Boston during the summer of 2024 and had regained some movement in his left arm. However due to a lack of consistent therapy that progress has since declined. He is typically most awake and lucid in the afternoons making that the ideal time for visits.
Job Details:
- Schedule:
- 3 times per week: Monday Wednesday and Friday
- 2 hours per visit flexible between 10:00 AM 4:00 PM - Location: Rutland Vermont 05701
- Start Date: ASAP
- Pay Rate: $25 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Assist with range-of-motion (ROM) exercises at both the beginning and end of each visit (start with 5 minutes gradually increasing to 1530 minutes total).
- Check if respiratory support is needed; request respiratory or nurse support for cough assist if necessary.
- Grooming support: Wipe face eyes lips and mouth (with sponge stick) as needed for dryness and hygiene.
- Apply lotion on hands and feet trim nails as needed.
- Ensure client has been changed repositioned and attended to for comfort.
Requirements:
- Experience with mobility support and recovery care
- Open to male or female caregivers
- Reliable and communicative with a gentle and proactive care approach
