You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe San Diego Unified School District currently has a full time (40 hours per week) Translator-Interpreter (English/Spanish)position available. NOTE: This recruitment will be used to establish an Eligibility List for the current Translator-Interpretervacancy as well as any future vacancies.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Translate and produce a variety of general technical legal and medical documents materials and script between English and designated language for schools and district office staff; provide simultaneous interpretations during formal presentations at schools and district meeting sites using district interpretation equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of training experience and/or education equivalent to completion of college-level courses in the designated foreign language and one year of increasingly responsible experience in translating written documents and providing oral interpretation preferably in a school environment.

EXAMINATION PROCESS
Includes an application screening and evaluation based on the candidates education work history and responses to the supplemental questions. Only candidates whose application packet demonstrates a combined education and experience which meets the minimum requirements for the position will be considered qualified and advance in the process. Some positions require candidates to pass additional components which may include one or more of the following; a multiple-choice oral written or performance exam specific to the position. NOTE: Most exams(s) are conducted remotely utilizing an online testing platform. For these exams access to the internet and the use of a camera-ready desktop/laptop with a microphone is required to participate in these processes.
