Job Description

THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services Norristown State Hospital is seeking a Security Officer to become an integral part of our security team. In this vital role you will play a key part in ensuring the safety and security of patients staff students and visitors across the hospitals facilities and grounds. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment throughout the hospital. Your duties will include patrolling all buildings to identify and address fire hazards trespassing vandalism theft security issues and unauthorized individuals. You will also play a key role in managing fire alarms and supporting emergency response teams as they arrive on campus. Additionally you will oversee traffic and parking control according to established guidelines. Your responsibilities will involve both desk and patrol duties including vehicle and foot patrols of the hospital grounds conducting access control and performing regular interior and exterior inspections. You will also manage security and safety investigations and ensure all necessary documentation is accurately maintained.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
