We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team reporting to our Manager of Accounting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and managing various accounting responsibilities ensuring accuracy in financial records plus assisting with the preparation of financial reports. This role requires strong analytical skills proficiency in accounting software attention to detail and a solid understanding of accounting principles. We are a small company you can expect to wear many hats at different times must be able to change direction on a dime and deal with a multitude of interruptions changes in priorities and be able to do it all without batting an eye. You must have a get it done attitude and thrive in an ever evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
Manage the employee expense report platform including new hire enrollment and training.
Assist with weekly cash flow forecasting.
Maintain and reconcile our semi-monthly credit card transactions obtaining all supporting documentation.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
Bank reconciliations.
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for compliance and auditing purposes.
Prepare and submit tax filings including sales tax.
Assist with month-end and year-end close.
Work with internal teams and external parties to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Assist in implementing and maintaining financial controls and best practices.
Work with the Accounting Manager to develop and maintain integrations between the accounting system Salesforce Concur and more.
Have experience taking on complex and difficult problems formulating a path forward and executing steps that demonstrate meaningful progress.
Required Skills:
Working towards or has a bachelors degree in accounting Finance or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
5 years of experience in finance accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP or similar).
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Excellent analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and other financial tools such as Salesforce Concur and Cloudcoach.
