Job Description
- Address: Clifford Road Primary School Ipswich Suffolk IP4 1PJ
- Salary: 23657 pro rata (12.26 per hour)
- Hours: Part Time Hours to be agreed but approximately 1 hour 15 minutes per day 5 days per week 38 weeks per year. Term time only
- Contract: Permanent. Required from July 2025

Clifford Road Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive community and we are looking for a caring and reliable Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA) to join our friendly team.
We are especially keen to appoint someone who can bring creativity to lunchtimes through leading fun and engaging sporting activities. Whether you are organising games to develop fundamental sporting skills setting up playground challenges or encouraging teamwork and fair play your role will help make lunchtimes an active safe and enjoyable part of the school day for all our pupils.
You will:
- supervise children during the lunchtime period both in the dining hall and on the playground
- organise and lead structured games and sports that promote physical activity inclusion and teamwork
- build positive relationships with children and staff
- support pupils wellbeing and model positive behaviour
- maintain an acceptable standard of conduct and safety as laid down in the school policies by dealing with any problem minor injuries and reporting breaches of discipline to an appropriate member of staff
- undertake any other related duties as directed by the line manager/headteacher.
We are looking for someone who:
- has experience working with children (school-based experience is a plus)
- enjoys leading games or sports and can inspire participation from all
- is friendly patient and approachable
- can work well as part of a team.

We are a 2-form entry school with 413 pupils on roll and 18 children in our nursery at the heart of the vibrant town of Ipswich. We would welcome visits to our school and this is strongly encouraged.
