Nonprofit organization focused on historic preservation is searching for a garden assistant. This full-time position offers the opportunity to maintain the historic gardens and grounds of Kenmore as well as other sites as needed. The Foundation offers excellent benefits and a congenial working environment.
Responsibilities
Care and maintenance of the gardens and grounds at our historic sites.
Pruning shrubs and low trees to improve growth habits/remove damaged branches.
Safely operate and maintain equipment including tractors power tools trucks excavators and various hand tools.
This position is considered essential and must report during emergency situations
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
A proven ability to identify plants and trees
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Three years of commercial landscaping or gardening experience preferred.
Valid Drivers License

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Ability to perform strenuous work including the lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather. Must be able to work at heights up to 30 feet stoop stand crawl for extended periods of time. Some weekends and evenings are required for special events.
