SALARY: $59000-$7900 based on years of aligned experience up to 10 years. We also offer a relocation stipend for anyone joining us from 75 miles or more from Denver!
STATUS: Full time year round benefits eligible exempt in-person position

THE ROLE
The Manager of College Success-Internships is responsible for supporting the College Success team in their campus college-going culture and goals. This person is also a leader in the development and execution of their campuss internships class and related programming in order to ensure DSST Public School students have ample and viable college matriculation options and the knowledge skills and mindsets they need to truly succeed in college.
Executes college seminar curriculum and instruction for grades 9-12.
Advocates for and supports students in college admission and affordability processes:
Advise building of college lists and ultimately submission of applications and financial aid documents
Collaborate with school team to ensure strong and complete applications submitted (i.e. essays letters of recommendation) to colleges for admission to institution as well as to fly-in and college-based summer programs
Develops and maintains strong relationships with liaisons on college campuses and scholarship organizations across the country.
Informs and advises students families and staff of college access and admission opportunities
Conduct individual student and family college planning conferences (building college list FAFSA award letter review college/career transition)
Regularly communicates college and financial aid scholarship updates/information through seminar classes and advisory lessons
Creates and implements staff professional development sessions
Tracks assesses and shares out data (summer program fly-in visit application FAFSA scholarship award letter) trends.
Manages Internships Class and Placement process
Teaches four quarter-long internships classes to juniors and ensures the class includes all criteria of success including resume building mock interviews and a showcase presentation
Finds internships/career shadow partners for students to participate in virtually or in-person
Oversees the relationship with said partners and places students in these internships (roughly 35 per quarter)
Maintains college counseling best practices as defined by NACAC.
There may be additional college success or community partner duties depending on the DSST campus.

Qualifications:
Minimum:
Bachelors Degree in any field.
At least 2 years of experience in a 6th-12th grade setting (any position) OR 2 years of experience in higher education (admissions trio financial aid etc.).
Ideal:
Proven commitment to and experience with serving students of color students with disabilities and/or multilingual students
Spanish language proficiency
Previous college counseling/advising experience
Previous teaching experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and may require standing walking bending kneeling stooping and crouching throughout the day. The employee must lift and/or move items up to 30 pounds. The employee must have sufficient hand arm and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
