Reporting to the Manager or designate performs professional social work of advanced complexity. Assists clients and their families with complex psychiatric and psychosocial problems. Provides comprehensive psychosocial assessment and intervention services including crisis intervention short-term counseling individual family and group therapy as well as case management functions. This work will emphasize extensive consultation and advocacy with staff the Ministry for Children and Family Development and community agencies regarding the severe and significant level of clients functional impairment.
Masters of Social Work degree (MSW) from an accredited school of Social Work. Current full registration with the BC College of Social Workers (BCCSW). Advanced training or additional certification in therapeutic modalities or specialized interventions in the treatment of children adolescents and families presenting with complex and/or chronic mental health issues. A minimum of two years recent experience working in a psychiatric paediatric setting or related field and experience providing mental health assessment and treatment with children youth and their families.
