Job Description


Be challenged and imagine with us

As Grants Funding Officer you will play a key role in helping researchers identify national and international funding. Youll provide strategic advice identify and promote funding opportunities and manage communications and resources that keep researchers informed.

In this role you will:

  • Identify and disseminate key research funding opportunities through targeted communication including a fortnightly newsletter and curated web resources.
  • Coordinate and manage internal Expressions of Interest processes for limited-submission grant schemes.
  • Develop and maintain digital resources including SharePoint and the Research Hub to support grant-seeking activity.
  • Design and deliver training and advice to researchers and staff to build capability and increase grant application success.

This position is a part time (0.4 FTE) fixed term job share until July 2026. It will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Australian and international research funding landscape with experience supporting research grant development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare high-level materials and build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities use initiative and deliver high-quality outcomes in a complex environment.

The remuneration for this position isfrom$93929 to $103641 pro-rated 17%superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

  1. A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and/or broad knowledge in a technical or administrative field; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  2. A strong track record in successfully managing a range of competing priorities applying initiative and resolving complex issues whilst actively managing performance to achieve positive outcomes.
  3. Demonstrated experience of delivery of quality professional customer focused services to clients.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) with demonstrated success in preparing high level briefing papers providing effective training to a wide range of stakeholders and the capacity to build relationships.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within and across teams maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and external agencies to achieve organisational goals.
  6. Demonstrated experience and commitment to process improvement as the basis for service delivery.
