Overview
The Orthopedic Surgeon (MS DNB Consultant) plays a crucial role in improving the mobility and quality of life for patients facing musculoskeletal disorders and injuries. This specialist is responsible for diagnosing treating and performing surgical interventions on a wide variety of orthopedic conditions including fractures joint diseases and spinal disorders. The orthopedic surgeon works closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals including nurses physical therapists and radiologists ensuring comprehensive care and optimal recovery for patients. This position not only requires advanced technical skills but also necessitates a compassionate approach to patient care keeping communication lines open to educate patients and their families about treatment options and recovery processes. As the demand for orthopedic surgery continues to grow in healthcare settings the expertise of an MS DNB Consultant is vital for developing treatment protocols and conducting surgeries that uphold the highest standards of care. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients musculoskeletal systems.
  • Diagnose orthopedic conditions using medical histories physical examinations and diagnostic imaging.
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Perform surgical procedures including but not limited to joint replacements arthroscopies and trauma surgeries.
  • Manage pre-operative and post-operative care for patients.
  • Ensure proper documentation of patient medical records and surgical procedures.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists and nurses for rehabilitation planning post-surgery.
  • Educate patients on their conditions and treatment options.
  • Monitor patients progress during follow-up appointments and modify treatment plans as necessary.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to discuss patient care and improve clinic operations.
  • Stay current with advancements in orthopedic procedures and technologies.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior surgeons and medical students.
  • Engage in research and clinical trials to contribute to the field of orthopedics.
  • Adhere to surgical safety protocols and best practices.
  • Handle emergency cases as they arise demonstrating advanced decision-making and clinical skills.
Required Qualifications
  • Medical degree (MBBS) followed by MS in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Hold a DNB (Diplomate of National Board) in Orthopedics.
  • Valid medical license to practice as an orthopedic surgeon.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in orthopedic surgery.
  • Proven experience in performing a wide variety of orthopedic surgeries.
  • Strong understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy and biomechanics.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
  • Experience in conducting research or clinical trials is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and make rapid decisions.
  • Demonstrate a compassionate approach toward patient care.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours or be on-call as needed.
