Job Title: Die Man
Department: Forge
Job Summary:
The Die Man plays a critical support role within the Forge Department by operating forklifts to locate transport prepare and maintain forging dies and trimmers. This position requires hands-on involvement with die setup maintenance basic fabrication and organization to ensure seamless forging operations. The Die Man is expected to work closely with forge operators and supervisors to keep tools in optimal condition and ready for use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a forklift to locate retrieve transport and return dies and trimmers as needed for production or quoting purposes.
- Assist in the setup and operation of die-making equipment to support production runs.
- Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on dies and trimmers to ensure performance and longevity.
- Assist with the fabrication fitting and assembly of dies as directed.
- Accurately track and document die usage and conditions.
- Maintain a clean safe and organized work area in accordance with company safety standards.
- Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) especially in active forge areas.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or lead personnel.
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Morning shift
- Overtime

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: 1 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or forge shop environment required.
- Forklift Certification: Must be certified or able to become certified in forklift operation.
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools.
- Understanding of die fabrication and maintenance processes is preferred.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with peers and supervisors.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit bend and use hands to handle tools and components.
- Occasionally required to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and move items up to 40 lbs.
- Must have the ability to use vision effectively: close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to focus.
- Personal protective equipment including safety glasses (or prescription safety glasses) must be worn at all times while in the shop area.

The role operates in a heavy industrial environment with exposure to high temperatures noise moving equipment and metal components. Safety and situational awareness are crucial.
