Job Title: CNC Laser Operator
Pay: $20/hour (Based on Experience)
Shift: Monday Friday 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
Location: Tulsa OK
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Position Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Laser Operator / Programmer to operate and program a 6KW laser plate cutter with a shuttle table. This role requires hands-on experience in laser cutting operations including machine setup programming material handling and routine maintenance. The ideal candidate will be capable of ensuring efficient production while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and program a 6KW laser plate cutter with shuttle table to cut steel aluminum and other sheet/plate metals
Read and interpret technical drawings blueprints and job orders
Prepare load and align materials on the shuttle table; monitor machine during operation
Optimize cutting paths and nesting layouts using CAD/CAM software (e.g. BySoft SigmaNEST or equivalent)
Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting to reduce downtime
Inspect completed parts using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
Record production data and monitor material usage for tracking and reporting
Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment; adhere to all OSHA and company safety guidelines
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to enhance workflow and product quality
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating and programming high-powered CNC laser cutters 6KW or higher)
Strong knowledge of metal materials thicknesses and appropriate cutting parameters
Familiarity with shuttle table systems for efficient loading/unloading
Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and understanding tolerances
Experience using nesting/programming software for laser cutting systems
Strong mechanical aptitude attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
