Responsibilities
The Nursing Technician I - Registered: provides direct patient care under the supervision of an RN.
- Gathers information about the patient and administers and documents nursing care including taking vital signs and observing signs and symptoms of disease/illness.
- Assists patients in activities of daily living such as bathing grooming eating basic hygiene and mobility (ambulating turning positioning and range of motion).
- Completes bedside testing of blood glucose monitoring Hemocult screening specific gravity and other procedures.
- Changes dressings performs urinary catheterization and other treatments and procedures in accordance with formal training received through the Nursing degree program as delegated by the RN.
Qualifications
Current enrollment in a Registered Nurse Bachelor of Science Degree Program or a Registered Nurse Associate Degree Program with completion of at least one clinical component required.
Licensure as a Nursing Technician-Registered by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) required before beginning employment.
