Job Description

Odessa Brown Childrens Clinic (OBCC) has locations in Othello and the Central District. Services at the clinics include pediatric medical care behavioral health dental services nutrition sports medicine physical therapy occupational therapy and more. Since 1970 OBCC has worked to uphold the vision of community organizer Odessa Brown: to bring quality healthcare with dignity to children from birth to young adulthood in the Central District and south Seattle.

This is a limited term role (with benefits) funded until 9/30/2026.

The Community Mental Health Worker (CMHW) serves as a key link between patients families and the mental and behavioral health services offered through Odessa Brown Childrens Clinic (OBCC) and South Clinic both part of Seattle Childrens Hospital. This role facilitates continuity of care by supporting mental health screenings educating families on available services and connecting them with appropriate internal and community resources. The CMHW plays a crucial part in outreach navigation and patient support using a culturally responsive trauma-informed approach that advances health equity across communities served.

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent least 1 year of experience preferably in a medical or social work ability to work effectively with diverse computer skills including Microsoft Office in case management community health work or a similar direct service communication skills and detail ability to build rapport with youth and caregivers.

Required Credentials
Completion of the Washington State Community Health Worker (CHW) Training Program within one year of hire.

Preferred
Bachelors Degree in social work or (Spanish or other language).Familiarity with public benefit programs such as Medicaid Social Security and DSHS.

Compensation Range

$28.44 - $42.66 per hour

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity skills experience and expertise and may vary within the range provided.
