This is a non-union positionEnbridge Gas North Carolina has an opening for a Supv Damage Prevention. This role supervises salaried employees system wide that are responsible for ensuring that underground construction stakeholders are properly educated in order to prevent damages to our natural gas facilities. Provides technical training feedback and professional development for field investigators. Ensures that investigators are completing damage prevention reports and investigations in a timely manner. This position may oversee incremental programs that are geared towards reducing the Companys damage rate metric.
This position will be located in the North Carolina service territory.
What You Will Do:
This role builds a knowledge base of damage prevention law locating and excavation practices and pipeline system knowledge.
Develops and maintains relationships with line locators and excavators in the field.
Communicates standards and expectations to all parties for the sole purpose of reducing damages to our facilities.
May provide a physical presence to construction sites when our facilities are in scope.
Will assist the team to access points that include but are not limited to curb test wire gate and locating boxes.
Provides documentation that would be sufficient for restoration and or billing.
Directs audits of Enbridge company and contractor installed facilities to ensure that mainlines and service lines are locatable.
Works with appropriate parties to remediate when problems are found.
Surveys facilities for physical markings that include line markers locating boxes and paint markings.
Directs audits of line locating contractor for quality assurance and price performance.
May conduct tailgates on site meetings and training to field personnel (Construction Maintenance Field Service Engineering Contractors Local Management).
Participates in damage prevention team calls and attends local damage prevention council meetings.
Assist in identifying negligent excavators and facilitate any state damage prevention enforcement procedures
Responsible for Contract Locators performance. Stay in regular contact with Contract Locators leadership and quickly resolve issues as they arise in the field
Oversight of Locate Ticket Risk Model and Ticket Management System Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Who You Are:
Bachelors Degree and 5 years of directly related experience; or Associates Degree and 7 years of directly related experience; or High school diploma and 9 years of directly related experience.
Directly Related Experience: Supervisory experience pipeline operations and maintenance (transmission or distribution) integrity management implementation operator qualification technical training pipelines safety and compliance construction and inspection OJT training or project management.
Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills.
Knowledge or ability to learn underground construction practices including reading of field notes.
Must have or be able to be trained in the use of pipeline locating equipment
Must be comfortable working on construction sites and within all weather conditions.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to produce written reports and presentations.
Excellent computer skills and ability to use required tools.
Must have or be able to learn state damage laws and monitor any changes that impact the process.
Ability to analyze data and interpret trends.
Ability to manage multiple activities resources and time to achieve results and meet deadlines.
Must have valid drivers license and be able to drive company vehicle which will be provided.

Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):
Balancing bending and stooping climbing crawling carrying (up to 50 pounds) grasping kneeling lifting (up to 50 pounds) pulling hand over hand pushing reaching above shoulder repetitive motion sitting standing walking visual requirement (able to see screens detect color coding read fine print) hearing requirement.
