SUMMARY
Will work in a large warehouse environment pulling stocked goods from bins and placing them in shipping boxes according to the material orders. The warehouse stocks basic issue items for the military. The persons in these positions will work relatively unsupervised throughout the day pulling orders and preparing them for shipping. At the start of the shift the person will be given a handheld radio frequency unit with a LED readout monitor a bar code scanner and a pushcart containing up to 6 unprepared boxes to be built and filled. The handheld unit contains the requirements for each order to be filled; labels are added to boxes for each order. The worker must read the order from the handheld unit and identify the correct bin to pull the stock from. The worker must also verify that the item in the bin is the correct item to pull. Accuracy is extremely important but speed is also a factor. The worker must be able to recognize discrepant 15-digit part numbers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use radio-frequency stock locator to retrieve stock.
- Fill orders by identifying items requested and pulling items from stock.
- Reports any discrepancies in orders to warehouse supervisor.
- May occasionally ship when workload demands.
- Verify completeness of order before dropping at shipping station.
- Accurately package and label merchandise to be shipped.
- Daily use of push carts and manual pallet jacks bar code scanner.
- Meets deadlines.
- Maintain warehouse equipment by following manufacturers standards of use and cleaning.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Work with supervisor towards meeting performance standards.
- Provide training support for peers.
- Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 18 years old.
- Must be able to lift to 10 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Must be able lift up to 40 pounds on a moderate basis.
- Must be able lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Must gain and maintain necessary security clearances.
- Basic math level.
- Basic English reading and writing skills.
- Basic computer skills.

Pushing and pulling carts is a frequent function in the job. The employee frequently is required to stoop kneel twist or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to 75 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
