Job Description

Team Carney a dynamic performance and professional development provider is actively seeking a Force Combatives/Tactical Instructor to support a government contract related to a military Expeditionary Combat Command. Team Carney instructors are well credentialed highly motivated and provide outstanding instruction to support our various partner agencies.

This position is onsite in the Imperial Beach California area.
This position requires an active Secret security clearance.


Responsibilities:
  • Provide a customizable comprehensive and progressive training regimen that begins with fundamental self-defense and survival principles toimprove situational awareness and ones defense against the most common attacks.
  • Teach the fundamentals of close-quarters striking and ground fighting.
  • Teach the basic principles of body mechanics and tactical movement
  • Progress students to close-quarters striking techniques utilizing effective use of the bodys natural weapons such as fists feet elbows and knees and teach how to deliver a combination of blows from multiple angles of attack.
  • Teach students to respond to an aggressive or resistant detainee toaddress the threat and regain control of the person. After establishing a baseline competency of fighting skills progress students to the tactical employment of those skills including multiple-opponent strategies.
  • Teach proven and reliable techniques that work effectively while wearing military operational equipment and that are applicable in any tactical environment.
  • Provide on-site train-the-trainer instruction to sustain NECC skills over the long term.
Requirements:
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Black Belt certification in any martial art with a minimum of four years of experience conducting the following techniques and procedures both with and without tactical equipment: - Ground-fighting and/or grapplingPracticing proper body control and submissionClose-quarters striking (hand-to-hand combat) learning to effectively use the bodys natural weapons such as fists feet elbows and knees to deliver a combination of blows from multiple angles of attack usingHand-held weaponsknives and sticks
  • Experience withDetainee-handling and cuffingImplementing compliant and noncompliant cuffing escorting and marshaling techniques consistent with the tactics and procedures taught in the U.S. Navy Noncompliant Boarding-Visit Board Search and Seizure COI
  • Expeditionary - Small Arms Marksmanship Instructor or equivalent certification
  • Prior military experience and an honorable discharge
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills are required as well as the ability tomultitask and work independently while meeting strict deadlines and possessing working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet software applications.
  • Must be available to travel up to 30 days to Guam and CONUS based reserve units. .

The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full-time status. Part-time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represent the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements) and is just one component of Team Carneys total compensation package for employees. Projected salary range is $70000 to $110000 annually.
