Job Description

Are you a recent graduate of a business administration certificate/diploma or similar a High School graduate or early in your career and interested in a role as a Legal Assistant We have an exciting opportunity for 3 Junior Legal Assistants to join our 12-month training program. This is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career in a dynamic legal environment while gaining valuable skills and experience in a top tier law firm.

Our training program provides our Junior Legal Assistants with the opportunity to shadow and learn directly from our experienced Practice Assistants. You will have the opportunity to rotate through different practice groups where you will be allocated with your own Coach and Buddy who will help you on your journey through the program. At the end of the 12 month training program you may have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position in one of our practice teams.

About you

We are seeking enthusiastic candidates to provide administrative and operational support across a range of tasks in our Sydney office. You will bring initiative a proactive mindset be reliable self-motivated and passionate about supporting a busy legal team.

You will have or be willing to learn:

  • An interest in working as part of a team

  • Ability to manage competing priorities

  • Experience with Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to analyse problem solve and apply appropriate use of judgment

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely choosing an appropriate style for their audience

  • Well-developed people skills

  • Confidence and ability to use initiative appropriately

  • Effective planning and organisational skills

  • Reliability

Your role

You will be part of our Practice Assistant team to provide administrative and operational assistance across a range of tasks in our Sydney office.

Our dedicated coaches and Senior Practice Assistants will provide the guidance and support you need to thrive in the team. As part of our training program you will be involved in a variety of tasks with our Senior Practice Assistants including:

  • Deliver exceptional client service to both external and internal clients.

  • Provide administrative support including generating reports managing expenses and assisting with document amendments and management (printing filing archiving).

  • Support our client relationship management software by recording business development activities and maintaining accurate contact records.

  • Proactively manage the billing process including entering time and preparing bills in a timely manner.

  • Assist with client pitches and coordinate client events.

  • Open files promptly conduct conflict searches and obtain necessary approvals.

  • Support matter financials by creating and amending billing narratives and drafting/finalizing bills.
