The Physical Education Teacher will provide grade school students a comprehensive academic and physical experience using the Archdiocesan and State of Maryland Physical Education curriculum. She/he is responsible for creating a learning environment that fosters promotes and develops an understanding of the relationship of healthy body function exercise and athletics.
Essential Functions
- Maintains high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teaching of the Catholic Church.
- Plans and implements instructional programs with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and State of Maryland Standards.
- Creates an instructional environment conducive to learning.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of students progress and development in a timely manner.
- Teach physical fitness individual and team sports utilizing appropriate learning activities.
- Motivate each student to cultivate physical fitness and appropriate social and emotional adjustment that discovers and develop talents of students in physical achievement.
- Communicates standards achievements and deficiencies to students and parents through email phone calls conferences and electronic grade book.
- Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required.
- MSDE Certification or the willingness to obtain certification is required.
- Classroom teaching experience preferred.
- Proficient in using a variety of technologies.
Range: $31000 - $35000 Annualized
