Job Description Summary

The Plant 1 Quality Leader will lead a team of Quality engineers in meeting business requirements for quality assurance and control of aviation hardware. You will manage cross function coordination across business units engineering and programs teams

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control. Includes quality assurance of products services manufacturing processes. Includes conformance in manufacturing incoming goods control product inspection witness points etc.
  • Manages a small to medium team of professionals as well as others. Requires specialized knowledge within the quality. Influence the development of strategy for the Plant including control of resources and influences quality policy formulation and adherence.
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products processes or services. Strong focus on delivery of quality products on time to customers with significant interaction with military and commercial customer and regulators.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational product management manufacturing technology and engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Manages a small to medium team of lead professionals. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
  • Ability to develop relationships and work with key customers
  • Ability to prioritize to meet needs of business and achieve customer satisfaction

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years manufacturing experience) minimum of 5 years manufacturing/quality experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
  • Ability to document plan market and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Understanding of LEAN and FLIGHT DECK principals.
  • Possesses leadership capability experience working in a union environment.
