Job Description Summary:
The Program Manager 2 (PM2) leads Draper production program business of significant complexity and scale drives planning and execution and oversees the critical transition to production and production activities of multiple concurrent projects. The PM2 will be expected to develop follow-on and grow opportunities within the assigned customer base or pursue new related capture through development of winning proposals. We seek a Program Manager with proven large-scale production program management experience and the demonstrated leadership ability to build and successfully lead large-scale production program business.Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
Ensure successful execution of large-scale complex often first-of-a-kind production programs for national security customers and meet/exceed performance financial and schedule objectives.
Work closely with Draper operations and internal functional stakeholders on the establishment and coordination of production capabilities to meet the needs of both current and emerging production program pipeline.
Interface with and develop strong positive relationships with customers government sponsors internal leaders and colleagues
Develop personal credibility with sponsor organizations and program staff and lead organize and motivate multifunctional/engineering teams in production program business execution especially in transition to production and scaled up production delivery activities.
Manage complex production programs that may involve firm fixed price contractual terms.
Oversee program production output scope budget and schedules.
Drive new business growth within current customer base or for related additional opportunities.
Monitor and adhere to Draper program management/business winning policies and procedures.
Gather and report consolidated technical project status and financial information for internal program management reporting to Draper leadership
Negotiate business terms with respect to Drapers intellectual property and ensure agreed terms protect the interests of Draper and achieves mutual alignment among internal and external stakeholder requirements.
Contribute to Drapers strategic plan and be accountable for the execution and delivery of objectives assigned.
Skills/Abilities
Well established program and project management skills.
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and/or new applications.
Knowledge and proven track record of successful business interaction.
Ability to be persuasive and a strong relationship builder.
Possess excellent communications presentation and networking skills.
Ability to travel on an as needed basis.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications: Word Excel and Outlook.
Deep expertise in leading program execution of full lifecycle projects; identifying capturing and growing new business; and managing customer engagement.
Excellent written and verbal communications presentations skills organizational and time management skills.
Must be able to clearly and concisely present complicated information and relationships to executive leadership peers staff customers and stakeholders.
Passionate about Drapers non-profit mission to develop and deliver solutions to the nations most challenging security needs
Education
Bachelors degree in engineering science business or equivalent discipline required.
PMI PMP certification preferred
AS9100D or ISO9001 (or equivalent) preferred
Lean six sigma certification and statistical process control experience desirable
Experience
7-10 years production program management experience.
Experience in government regulated manufacturing and production based operations.
Experience in complying with and adhering to industry and/or government production standards audit preparation quality or operational excellence requirements is desirable.
Additional Job Description:
- DOD experience is preferred
- Manufacturing clean room experience preferred
