Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve as lead auditor for all internal quality audits. Design continuous improvement projects to ensure continued compliance with ISO 9001 standard.
- Host and participate in process product registration compliance and customer audits. This includes planning preparing execution reporting and following up.
- Develop quality standards processes sampling methods and other procedures for all NA production and distribution centers to prevent or reduce customer claims.
- Manage quality system documentation and monitor documents to assure they are accurate complete and reflect latest changes.
- Investigates all customer claims interacts with customers SQE providing professionally written documents to include test reports testing procedures product properties 8D reports and etc.
- Collaborate with product engineering and sales to resolve warranty claims to companys and customers satisfaction. Site visits may be required. Make conclusions and issue technical reports of findings.
- Initiate and drive continuous improvement projects/activities/programs to achieve strategic quality objectives (e.g. PPM Cost of Poor Quality Customer Incident Rate etc.).
- Apply Six Sigma and LEAN principles to improve quality related processes.
- Define the quality control plans and mistake proofing solutions for different product families according to existing standards and customer specific requirements.
- Assess the suitability of new suppliers and external service providers through supplier audits inspections and performance monitoring and measurement.
- Support QHSE Manager in supervision of all aspects of quality control and assurance.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of LEAN and 8D problem solving methodology
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Knowledge of PFMEA Control Plan APQP PPAP RRCA SPC Data Analysis
- Knowledge of quality philosophies principles systems methodologies control tools and standards
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience with ISO 9001 QMS Management system
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects at the same time
- Experience working with national and international certification bodies
- Ability to work with cross functional teams
- Ability to supervise a quality team
- Ability to motivate communicate and drive continuous improvement
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Project Minitab)
- SAP is a plus
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Quality Assurance Engineering or other applied industrial/science degree.
- Three years of on-the-job experience in a direct quality related discipline
- Five years experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Green or Black belt certification preferred
